What a big boy!

J - Luke and I visited the Child Health clinic this week for his 4 week (25 Jan 05) weigh in. He's growing!! Luke's birth weight was 3.465 kilos and at 4 weeks he's 4.555 kilos. A gain of over 1 kilo thanks to the quality and quantity of my breast milk. And that weight is not just turning him into a 'chubby bubby' he's also 3cm longer - now 55.5cm.

Luke met his Grandpa Bill this week. Bill now calls him 'Wonder Boy' and can claim that he took Luke to his first cafe in St Kilda.

Inez, Luke's Oma, dropped by on Wednesday morning to spend some time with Luke and to let me get to the gym.

G is off work for 4 days for his belated paternity leave which is giving him some quality time with Luke and shows him that everyday is actioned packed with not much time to be sitting around. You can't count breast feeding as 'sitting around'... G's favourite task is to unwrap Luke when we're waking him up to feed. For those not familiar with the wrapping of babies heres an explanation. Newborns now sleep on thier backs not their fronts due to the threat of SIDS. Combined with the Moro reflex (the thrashing action of babies' arms and legs) there would be no staying asleep without securing wrapping them to look like a little bundle. Luke doesn't mind be wrapped for his sleep but loves to be let free.
