Every August we make what has become our annual trip to
Falls Creek to ski. Both boys are
capable skiers and enjoy this short break from school midterm. We had quite mixed weather conditions this
trip – either fantastic or miserable.

Fresh powder everywhere, the kids made a snow cubby
We have a few sayings that we like to use at home: “I love
you more than you love me!”, the reply to which is “no, not possible, I love
you more”. All to measure the love we
feel for each other. Lucky for us both
boys are at an age where being loving is still important to them.

Heading down the mountain, the snow came for quite a ride
I’ve been helping out in Luke’s classroom with the reading
(French class only of course) and love that Luke is so proud to have me
visit. When I mentioned how cold it was
he offered to speak to his teacher and secure me a cosier position next to the
heater.

Luke started guitar lessons this term
I’ve also had a few opportunities to help out in Alex’s
class which is a different experience because Alex just wants to snuggle with me
and disengages with his friends. The
lovely thing is seeing how much the kids enjoy having me in their classroom and
getting the chance to see them with their friends and learning.

Alex, his favourite book and the class stuffed toy that visits with each kids family so they can write stories about him
Hopefully we’re coming to the end of winter because it would
be great to get outside again and enjoy sunny days. Last weekend the wet weather took its toll on
the boys and G and I came to the realisation that we had to split them up as
much as possible because of the constant fighting and dare I saying hitting of
each other. The strategy worked beautifully
and by Sunday afternoon they spent hours investing games together and enjoying
hanging out.

Alex's class presented the school assembly, Alex is 5th kid from the right - green top and big smile
Luke really loves Alex and has been sensational this year in
looking out for Alex at school. On the
days when they go to aftercare or soccer Luke collects Alex from his classroom
and takes him where they need to go. We
set up an agreement with Luke this year where Luke meets whoever is doing the
pickup at Alex’s classroom to save looking all over the school for each
other. Luke races up within seconds of
the bell ringing, Alex’s class is usually not even close to coming out.

beautiful.
especially love the pic of alex standing next to luke playing the guitar. so tall, grown up and handsome xxxxx
Makes me wish I was younger so that Luke & Alex could show me how to ski - the only trouble is that it looks so cold.
It's good that Luke is learning guitar but I notice that he has his mouth shut - is that because the tooth fairy has been?
Looking forward to the visit.
