Determined but charming

There’s so much to report that I hardly know where to start.

Luke the toddler is the best age yet. He’s charming, inquisitive and changing with each day.

He has always been quite affectionate and now he seeks G and I out for cuddles and kisses. Just about everyone he walks past gets a smile and wave and if he likes the look of them Luke will blow kisses as well. You can imagine that he’s a very popular boy in our local area.

Luke’s obsession with steps has paid off – he can now walk up and down most steps even the high ones at our front door. Walking anywhere with him can be slow as any steps are irresistible and he has to conquer them. Combined with his winning smile I can hardly hold it against him.

There are new words all the time – probably too many to list. The latest is “eeze” as in cheese. Luke’s also very fond of “actor” for tractor.

He loves tractors so much that he spotted one all the way across the park this week and we had to go over to investigate. The workmen are used to kids and would have let Luke sit in the big seat but at this stage he really only wants to look and not get too close. This is his approach with dogs as well.

Luke is quite the imitator. When I’m out of the shower and moisturising he has to have a go as well. He pulls up his pant leg and insists that he gets his fair share to rub in. He still likes to sweep up with the dust pan and broom and insists on shaking the tray into the bin. We must be careful about what we do from now on…

Luke’s appetite has really picked up in the past month and he’s enjoying all kinds of foods again. Whilst he’s not always very adventurous he continues to love anything salty. Milk is still a big feature of Luke’s diet and to our horror he can open the fridge and pull out the milk carton. Not long until we’re all crying over spilt milk! Luke also has a generous nature and he’s always giving his teddy bears (and even Thomas the Tank Engine) a drink of his precious milk.
