Christmas and Luke's B'day

I've snuck this post in in the correct date order but it's long after the event and of course we now have Alex (who was still called Remi) with us now.

Christmas was a quietish day as I didn't want to go into labour so tried to stay calm and quiet. We celebrated lunch with Oma, Jeremie, and the grandparents from Inez's side. Luke was the star of the present opening with his squeals of delight and looks of pure delight. Having children around at Christmas really brings the spirit back into what has become a fairly commerical day.

The day ended with Monnie (Maureen, my mother) arriving from Perth so she would take over the labour watch from Inez who was heading down to Rye. We have been reading Luke's stories to prep him for Remi's arrival and have been counting on one of the Grandmothers being around at the critical time.

Luke has enjoyed a number of birthday celebrations this year already but we couldn't let the occasion of his birthday go by. Using his Christmas present, a flour sifter, (he loves to cook!!!) he helped Monnie make a birthday cake and then invited Jakc and Angus from up the road to share it with him.

Having three little boys at the party meant that the candles were relit time and time again to let them all have a turn at blowing them out.
