Weighed and measured

Both of my boys have been along to the Child Health Nurse recently so here are their vital stats:

Luke at 2 years and 2 months (his belated 2 year checkup)

Weight: 12.7 kilos which is a gain of just over a kilo in the past 7 months. It’s actually hard to imagine Luke putting any weight on given how active he is. He runs everywhere now and can spend more than 3 hours a day racing around the park.

Height: 91cm, an increase of 9cm since his last visit. I haven’t noticed his height growth but his feet are definitely getting bigger!

Alex at 2 months.

Weight: 6 kilos compared to Luke who was 5.6 kilos at about the same age.

Length: 60cm compared to Luke who was 61cm.

Alex’s eyes are definitely looking like they will go brown and his dark birth hair is still hanging around. Luke had thinner hair and was already getting blond hair by this stage so there is a good chance that Alex will be the dark and handsome brother.

My last post referred to Alex sleeping longer at night – well that seemed to jinx me as he went back to every 3 hours for the past few weeks. It may have been related to the really bad cold I had and low milk supply and it’s a slow form of torture to never sleep for more than 2 and a half hours at any one time. There are a lot of things I will forgive Alex for though.

We’ve just had Grandpa Bill visiting for a week which was great timing given how sick I was feeling and Luke’s strong desires to continue to be extremely active. Grandpa spent hours with Luke in the park, riding trams, trains and boats and drinking babycino’s. G and I are very impressed with how patient Grandpa can be – he’s prepared to stop and explore every nook and cranny with Luke in the street. For those that haven’t recently had the pleasure the simple task of walking around the corner to get the newspaper can take up to an hour as Luke explores everything in his path.
