Chai lattes please

Loving each other or a break from wrestling?
The boys have turned their back on "chocolat chaud" (hot chocs) and long since given up babycinos. Their latest cafe treat (not that we go that much) is a chai latte. Very grown up of them.

"We want a baby".  I reminded the boys that Cousin's Lucy and Will were getting a baby soon and that started them up with “we want a baby, we want a sister”.  We talked about where would the baby sleep and Alex has a solution – in his bed. I reminded them that babies cry and Luke saw that wasn’t a good thing.  Alex said he would kiss the baby when it cried.  As tempting as their offer of support is I think we will pass. They both agree that babies mean less sleep and more work and Mummy only has 2 hands.

Flying through the air!
We have dabbled in star charts before and some recent behaviour bought them back.  We work on a tick and cross system.  Luke being on the ball agreed that if he selected his reward, we bought it and put it in the top of the cupboard meant that he knew what he was aiming for.  This had a much better effect than the last time we tried this.  So the latest addition to our household is 2 Star Wars swords - the kind that light up and make realistic noises.

Alex loved the slide - again and again and again
Luke is at school so Alex has both swords in the spinner
“Let’s play pretend”.  How I love to hear that phase – isn’t it just gorgeous?  We've recently had a long weekend and I lost track of how many times one of the boys said that to each other.  It makes me nostalgic for my own childhood and the dress up box – not that my boys are into dressing up, in fact it’s still clothes off in our house.  In the middle of winter I found them stark naked, their explanation “we’re playing werewolves”.  And I can confirm that werewolf’s do bite!

Popcorn is still a favourite snack in our house
Luke is very earnest in some of his pursuits and has found a way to stretch the "walk don't run command" - he skips.  It's a bit of a hop skip and very sweet.  He is of course very fast.

G and Luke love to play a game where Luke has to guess foods
