Unoffically six years old

Luke's day and he's pretty happy about it
Last weekend we had a joint birthday party for Luke and his friend Noa.  We invited the whole class and so ran games and craft for 20 kids.  It was a bit crazy at times but the kids all had a great time.  I know it seems really early given his real birthday is 27 December but with all the other commitments including the school fete, Christmas parties and Alex's birthday party (a lower key family orientated one) having it early made sense.

Musical squares instead of chairs
We were really lucky with the weather, it had poured the day before.
Feeding frenzy

Alex was always in the thick of it, he loves hanging with Luke's friends
Birthday cakes for each kid
We have a bit of a tradition of getting Luke an ice-cream cake.  It's such an easy option and the kids love it.  Noa made cupcakes for her cake.

The kids mobbing G for the water bomb balloons

The highlight of the day for Luke was the water bomb balloon target game.  I had warned him and the other boys that if one balloon was thrown at a kid then the game would stop.  Surprisingly they listen...  We had two sets of balloons pre prepared and this photo is the kids going crazy for more once they realised the game wasn't finished.

I've said no more big birthdays like this one (well perhaps Alex can have one) - just too exhausting.  Next year it will be the total number of kids that corresponds to the age he's turning.
