Big is always best in Luke’s world

Luke’s favourite word and concept is big although he uses the French word “Gros”. From describing the footballer that sat behind us on the plane on the way back from Perth, to the cars in the street to his preferred portion size. The food part is funny as it no longer works to break him off a piece of toast or biscuit – he only wants the whole “Gros” potion and offering him any less can result in tears of frustration.

Luke was a fairly good traveller on our recent Perth trip – aided by the three seats we were lucky enough to have on both flights. Luke slept the whole way once he finished charming everyone with his Thomas the Tank Engine pyjamas. That made things relatively easy for me. Not so easy was the nearly two weeks of night waking (between two and three times) following our return and his adjustment.

G has celebrated his second ‘Fathers Day’ recently and Luke did his bit to make it special. He woke nice and early (but I convinced him to leave G in peace), then he helped me go out and buy croissants for breakfast, he delivered the gifts with a flourish (and nearly ht G on the head in the process) and was charming all day. He clearly loves his Papa and loves pottering around the house and backyard with G especially when the tool box is open.

This weekend we went for a drive to the Dandenongs for lunch and a bushwalk. Luke loves walking so we had to choose easy walks so he could keep up. We get some funny looks from the other walkers at such a little fellow being so determined about making his own way down the path.
Remi is growing well and I think my belly is larger this time than it was with Luke. Luke doesn’t really understand the concept of a baby and we hope he will be accepting of the changes it brings about in his life. He was very gentle with his cousin Lucy when we visited her in Perth. He loved to stroke her head and give her kisses.

I love these blogs because they are so much better than seeing photos (which are good) but because there are relative comments and so more alive.
There is also the ability to go back to when it all began - as a bump just like Remy.
We can share your pleasure as Luke grows.
We would love to see more of him (and you)and realise that after Xmas this will become more difficult.
By then we will have direct flights from Kalgoorlie to Melbourne.
