Both boys have some lovely expressions which get used a lot and I've been trying to remember them to put in this blog.
 |
| Grandpa Bill and the boys searching out some snow peas in the garden |
When Alex wants to portray a large number it's "a thousand trillion", lollies, stars, kisses you name it.
 |
| We might have started a new Fathers Day tradition - rock climbing |
Luke has a new language that has definitely come from the school yard. A sweet one is "sewiously". He's not very good with his 'R's'. Both aren't really as "Aunty Kawen" knows very well. An expression we hear a little too often is "I know that". Usually delivered with as all the attitude a five year old can muster.
 |
| Luke has climbed twice before and was ready to tackle anything |
Alex has got a better handle on "I" instead of "me" all the time. Except know a lot of times he uses I when we is the better option and can't graps that. G also says "me want Mummy" is a common one with Alex. Recently Alex told me "you can go to work when I got to Possums but otherwise be in the home". He's sounding like he can be a bit clingy still... true especially when we try to get a babysitter.
 |
| I'm amazed at the strenght of his arms and his determination |
Both boys call me "Princess Mummy" when they are feeling especially loving or want something. We tend to say to each other "I love you too much". "Family hugs" or "huggles" for Alex are a favourite and Grandpa Bill even got to esperience one of those.
 |
| And then to our surprise Alex was allowed to have a climb too, he had a different approach to Luke. |
These are all such fleeting things that seem to be with us for ages and one day these signs that they are little boys just disappear and often we don't really even notice it.
 |
| Plenty of hugs for Grandpa Bill |
G recently spend two weeks (we counted the days) in France and was greatly missed (and therefore appreciated) at home. It was a good experience for him to explore some new options to shape his (and therefore) our future. Luckily we had visitors to take up the slack. First Grandpa Bill who I think we sent home so he could sleep for a week straight and then Aunty Karen who appears to have unlimited energy until she spends a week in this house with early rising, go buttons from the moment their feet hit the floor and constant chatter from Alex. The end result of the visits was a stack of new Lego for the kids and some much appreciated support for me.
 |
| And the fun didn't stop once Karen arrived as well |
Luke has finished term 3 - where did that time go? - and is enjoying a well deserved break. He's settling into school particularly his friendships and playing. He can now skip a rung of the monkey bars! The learning can be up and down and I give full credit to his teachers for managing that.

| Quality time with Luke |
Alex has transitioned from visiting the Kinder Room at Possums every week to be a regular (and welcome) fixture there everyday. And to end with a comment in an email from one of the little girls at childcare whose birthday Alex can't make. "What a shame Alex can't make it, Sophie and ALL the other girls will be most disappointed (Alex is a real favourite with them all)."

Nine cold days in Melbourne with the young family.
Boys are changing all the time with Luke now at school and Alex becoming a talking machine. Both growing up bit by bit.
It was great to be with them but they wore poor old grandpa out with their energy. My batteries were running flat and I was glad to pass the baton to auntie Karen and fly home for a rest.
