Christmas by the beach

Christmas this year was combined with Inez’s (“Oma”) beach house in Rye being finished and ready for us to help her move in. The house is amazing and we’re so lucky to have it.

Alex and Luke testing the new boat in the lounge room

The boys love their room and Luke made the transition to the top bunk for the first time after contemplating it a number of times over the past year. They also loved the stairs which I guess is pretty normal if you don’t have them at home!

I loved the kitchen and we did a lot of eating in as the Peninsula is pretty crazy over the Christmas and New Year period meaning getting a parking spot and then a seat at a café is a huge challenge.

Alex has a new Lego as well
The house is really well located near the front beach (the bay beach) and our days included a couple of visits there.
Off to the beach (not always guaranteed to be hot at Christmas in Vic)
Both boys took to the water with gusto, Alex after a little bit of hesitation. Helped by the inflatable boat which was a Christmas gift from Oma.

We ended up staying two weeks because the weather was so good and life so relaxed. Inez headed off to Europe after Boxing Day but we know there will be many holidays ahead of us.

Alex looking happy and in his new bathers as we forgot to pack his!
