On Alex's last day of Possums he wore Luke's school uniform as many of the kinder kids
who were going to school next year did. Luke on the other hand had casual dress. |
The summer school holidays weren’t as scary as I thought they would be, in fact they disappeared in a flash. The juggling of kids and work wasn’t too bad. We had a couple of girls come in for a few of the days and Alex in particular has gotten much better of letting go of the leg!

They enjoy the different aspects that other people bring although I did note they got both girls to take the to the St Kilda library to play computer games…

I’ve enjoyed my Mummy Special Days with both boys although was shattered one week after an outing to Scienceworks with hundreds of other kids. The following Wed we took it a little easier and had Rhiannon spend the day with us. A highlight in the afternoon was visiting the Japanese Garden across the road at the council. It’s small and quite hidden but special to us as we first discovered it with Grandpa Bill and so he always rates a mention or two when we go there.

I also spent a day with just Luke and his best mate, Liam, when Alex was back at Possums. After thinking through all the options of what we could do they decided on Kids Space, one of the play centres I’m not fond of and still won’t take Alex to. It’s very high energy and hard to keep an eye on the kids but they both love it and as 6 year olds about to go into Year 1 they are more than capable of handling themselves.

It’s lovely to be out with these two big boys and listen to the involved conversations they have with each other. One conversation was about needing to go to the same high school and then deciding that they would work at the same company as well!

The boys are growing up quickly. Perhaps you don't need to keep them standing in the pile of dirt & may have to slow them down by putting bricks on their heads.
We went back to December 2008 "nearly one and nearly three" and what was a boy and a baby is now two young men.
