Our travels - part 2

Here are a few more photos from the first part of the holiday whilst I was still at work in Melbourne.  Looks like they had enough fun for all of us!
Lunch at La Fleclaz
G has fond memories of cross country skiing as a child and I don't think we have ever gone to France without a side trip to La Feclaz.  A small local resort.
An igloo left behind by someone else... but destroyed by my boys
Luke enjoying cross country skiing
One of the benefits of cross country is not needing ski gear.  Here's Luke in jeans and a shirt - well they said the weather was lovely...
New toys and very pleased to see each other again
And the we returned after our all day trip on the train and a snap decision in Geneva to try for a train rather than waiting for the bus from the airport.  My suggestion - never try to catch a train on Friday afternoon as everyone was getting out of the city for the weekend and Alex and I were so squashed.  Lucky he had our suitcase to sit on.  Once we caught up with G and Luke, Alex could not leave Luke alone.  They were so excited to see each other, especially when Alex pulled some gifts out.

Luke can do a double flip
And then we were shopping and packing again to head off to Tignes.  I don't think we could have fit much more in the car it was full to the brim.  Now I know why everyone in Europe seems to have the roof boxes.

Loads of snow still

Boys will be boys, commando kicking the snowdrift
Getting ready for a days skiing with the Uncles
And then we were joined by the Uncles and Grandpere Gilbert.  The boys were pretty impressed with the Uncles.  I confirmed that they need to be able to ski black runs prior to moving on the snowboarding.  Alex's response was "fine, take me to a black run, I'll get down and then I can snowboard".  Cheeky boy!  He would have snowplowed the whole way....
Bit of apres ski
Both boys did ski school each morning and progressed a lot with technique which would always be their weak point.  Ski they have.  In fact G and the boys all ski so fast these days that I'm not sure they will let me ski with them anymore.  They hate having to wait.  Luke graduated from First Star and Alex from 'Flocon' or Snowflake.  We didn't get a photo of Alex receiving his medallion as he fell on his last run and his lip split open meaning I had to get him home and fast!

Come back for part 3!
