Luke is a happy flyer

J - we're back from Perth and the best news is that Luke handled the flight extremely well. He either slept through the takeoff and landing or happily sucked his dummy. I was quite relieved and am now very confident about taking him to Europe this May.

Our trip to Perth was fantastic. The Robinson family, especially Monni/ Maureen, Grandpa Bill, John, Dalys, Karen and Jason, were suitably impressed with Luke. It was a very hot week so Luke visited the beach a couple of times but didn't swim and he got to know the cafes in Fremantle very well. G was very happy to see us come home and conveniently arrived back from Brisbane just before our flight landed.

Luke's latest progress is plenty of smiles and chitchat to everyone he meets, clasping of objects (especially his 'bangles'), reaching out and hitting objects dangling in front of him and he is more reactive to stimulus especially people. It's amazing for G and I to see this all happen - we're so proud of him.

Luke's vital stats at his 9 week checkup were: weight 5.6 kilos (just below the 75th percentile), length 61 cm (just above the 75th percentile) and head circumstance 40.7 cm. His development is completely on track for his age bracket and he has particularly good neck control and strength.

G - Un petit paragraphe en Francais (pour les Francais et Francophones!). Je parle a Luc en Francais, et Joceline prends la releve en anglais. Nous esperons par la suite donner a Luc le meme don de bilinguisme dont nous avons ete legue moi meme et les freres. Cela va surtout etre interessant quand Luc s'apercoit que ses chacun de ses parents lui parle avec une langue differente ! Je suis par contre convaincu qu'a cet age, l'ensignement des langues requiert tres peu d'effort de la part des enfants.
Bon, j'y vais car j'ai qualques courses a faire, et il n'y a qu'un nombre determine d'heures dans un weekend, ou Joceline et moi devont travailler en tandem pour que Luc reste avec un de nous deux.
