Sneak peak at Alex's first day at school

I know Grandpa Bill is waiting to see these so I will post the photos now and add some more words a bit later.  No-one cried...
Two school boys hanging out at home
I was counting down the days until Alex started school and all too quickly the day arrived.  Alex looked so smart and proud in his uniform (didn't even notice that it wasn't brand new!).  He has been asking Luke questions about school so he's ready.

Looking the part

We headed off to school and got there a little early.  Luke's class went in at the normal time of 9am but the Preps started at 9:30am.  More waiting around and a number of anxious faces - both the kids and parents.  I was more worried that Alex would get hungry before he even got into the classroom.

Arriving at the school nice and early
Alex knew a few of the kids and was very comfortable in the school grounds.  I think some of the other parents thought he was a bit of a dare devil on the monkey bars.

Being the practically the first kids at school Alex had his bag in the enviable position of first in line so when the teachers came out and the parent scrum stepped back.  He started to waiver a little but held strong when his teacher, Anne, asked him to lead the kids into the classroom.  No time for a kiss goodbye!

At the end of the day he burst out of the classroom all smiles and full of stories about his day.  The only down side was he said he didn't have anyone to play with and couldn't find anyone in the school yard.
