The winter of soccer

School holiday archery excursion, Luke loved it, Alex not so much
This is the winter of soccer.  Alex has really got into it and gets a lot of compliments on his skills.  Also comments about his game style, one Dad said “if Alex tackled me, I’d give him the ball and run”.  He’s a very determined and focussed player and because his team has a wide variety of levels often gets the ball at the opponent’s goals and takes it down to his goal by himself.  One day he was kicking in near the opponent’s goal, he couldn’t find a team mate to pass to so just booted it straight into his own goal!

Bracing swim at Portsea back beach in July
One afternoon with a school friend over to play Alex called me a “dudette” and has kept going with this every since.  I’m going to take it as a compliment.  A dudette being a higher status than just Muuummm....

Celebrating Bastille Day at our house
Alex was so excited to score an invite to Liam’s birthday party.  Liam is Luke’s long term best friend and Alex is fond of hanging with the grade 3’s at school.  It was an ice skating party so we went for a trail run on the holidays.  All the rollerblading paid off as Alex took to it very quickly.  He was very proud to be the only grade 1 at the party and held his own zooming around the ice.

Alex and his team 'The Titans'
Luke had his school sports day recently and came home with two third place ribbons.  He claims he was robbed of a second place by one of the Dads who mucked up the time keeping.  All good and happy though.

Mad keen on handball, again...
